The Americana Run is a virtual run/walk salutin’ birthday #240 of the US of A!! We invite runners and walkers of all ages -- and nationwide -- to join us in this inaugural Declaration of “We do whatever the heck we want!” Sweet glory Americana medals and other dainty perks of patriotism will be delivered to you by our trusty US Postal Service. A portion of proceeds will go to helping severely injured Veterans rebuild their lives through Homes for Our Troops. What more can we say? “We 💙 ‘murica!”

Step one: Sign up for the Americana Run! You can sign up as an individual or as part of a team. Participating as a team is highly encouraged for max fun factor -- you get to come up with a clever team name, invite others, share your experiences, and (hopefully) run together!

Step two: We ship out your swag! This will include a custom zinc-alloy finisher’s medal, Tyvek® bib, and other fun swag.

Step three: Register to submit your results, qualifying you for awards and prizes!

Step four: Get out and run! Map out your 5K, 10K, or half marathon route. Grab some friends, your dog, your kid, or fly solo -- it’s up to you! When you’re done, submit your results to our official leaderboard.

Step five: Win awards and prizes, and meet fellow participants from around the world in our super supportive Americana Run community!

FitFam Summer Series

The FitFam Summer Series is an opportunity for you to get in on all three of our summer 2016 virtual events at one low price. To top off your Summer Series discount, in addition to three unique medals for each of the events, you'll also get an exclusive Summer Series medal. This medal will be available only to participants who complete all three events!

The price for the FitFam Summer Series is $80 and includes swag entries for the Americana Run on July 4th weekend, the Great Outdoors Challenge on 8/4 to 8/9, and the Challenge Dash on 8/26 to 8/29.

Once you complete your goal (between July 2-5, 2016), report your Americana Run official results to be eligible for awards! You'll receive an email shortly before the event with instructions for reporting your results.

Is this a virtual run? You are CORRECT!

What is a virtual run? A virtual run is one that you do on your own time and on the course of your own choosing. We give you a timeframe to complete your miles and invite you to the super-supportive Americana Run community. Once you're done, you can report your results to our official leaderboard and feel fantastic knowing you just benefitted animal rescue in a fun way.

Why should I participate in a virtual run? Because Uncle Sam wants YOU to run the Americana Run! Oh yeah, and these reasons:

  1. You'll get some awesome Americana Run swag to remember your accomplishments and a fun, one-of-a-kind experience!
  2. Got a group of friends, a kid, or a dog that likes running? Someone you'd like to help get in shape? Sign up and add them on to your registration. This is a great way to get out and about.
  3. A portion of every entry fee goes to the support of American veterans.
  4. A virtual run/walk is a fun, flexible, stress-free way to participate in a race. You get to run/walk on your own schedule AND connect with participants around the country in our super-supportive event community.

Who can participate? Everybody! There is no age limit, no restrictions. So run, jog, walk, or crawl (not recommended, unless you’re a quadruped or really really odd). Go alone, in a group, with your pet -- it's completely up to you. Just get out and enjoy yourself!

My kid wants to participate, but I'm sitting this one out. Can I sign them up? Kids can be registered to participate on their own.

I have a group that wants to participate. Can we register as a team? Yes, absolutely! Just select the “Create a team” or “Join a team” link on the registration page.

Can I complete the run with a group? Yes! We even have an award for most team members!

Do I have to complete the distance all at one time or can I break it up into different days? Split it up if you'd like!

When will I receive my swag in the mail? Depending on when you register, your swag items be mailed out a couple weeks before the start of the event or shortly after. You'll even receive a notification by email when it's shipped.

Do the medals come with a ribbon? Yes! Every medal comes with a matching ribbon so you can wear and hang your bling!

I don’t live in the United States or Canada, can I still participate? Sure can! While not eligible for prizes, participants outside of the US and Canada can join the fun and win awards with our digital package.

I have an APO/FPO address, can I signup for a swag registration? Yes. We are happy to able to send swag packages to our military service members overseas. (Note: Transit times are in the hands of USPS mail delivery and may vary by location.)
